Synthetic biology is the new frontier of innovation and evolution. Digital transformation is a buzz word today, but synthetic biology will change the world of tomorrow. Today’s ability to effectively modify DNA has started a wave of innovations, which use microorganisms as factories to replace chemical production. Biosyntia is a thriving and growing 20 people research-focused biotech startup, located in Denmark, Copenhagen. Our vision is to build highly competitive fermentation processes to replace chemical production. With our fermentation process, we produce ingredients which can replace their chemical counterparts by lower cost, better functionality and being more sustainable.

The Position

In industrial biotech, the technical challenge is one piece of the puzzle. One also need a solid understanding of addressable markets and customer demand. Your task will be to support with:

  • Market analyses, including product pricing, market sizing and value chain analyses
  • Identify potential industrial partners and industry experts, including meeting preparation
  • Finding and sharing key industry news and analyses
  • Ad-hoc tasks such as keeping our CRM-system up-to-date, etc.

You will primarily support the CEO and a business developer in a fast-paced organization, while getting exposed to a wide range of commercial activities. Your analyses will directly influence decision-making of management, while providing the opportunity to apply your academic theory into practice. You will be compensated for your work and we expect you to work min. of 15 hours/week with flexibility around exam periods.


Your expected qualifications for the position are:

  • A top-performing student in the process of completing a relevant degree (such as a M.Sc. or B.Sc. within Business Administration, International Business, Finance, etc.).
  • You have an analytical mind-set and you can handle a large volume of information and transform it into structured overviews.
  • You are a fast learner, able to deliver results both independently and in collaboration with others.
  • You have well developed interpersonal skills and a confident interacting with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in working with Excel and PowerPoint is a requirement
  • You need to work fluently in English.
